Hilary Bilbrey, Founder & CEO
Hilary holds English and Education (Secondary English and Drama) Degrees from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and advanced degree from Cambridge University, UK. Through her own family’s experiences, Hilary continues to find comfort in writing children’s books as a way to both heal emotionally and also to help other families going through similar situations.
Her first published book is Little Jake Learns to Stop a joint effort with Dr. Pamela Beyer, Psy.D.. Her second published book, Brecker Bunny Leans to Be Careful! she joined forces with the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety. She is certified in The Virtues Project and speaks to various organizations and schools throughout each year. Her leadership, peer mediation and kindness programs have had amazing impact on both students and parents alike. Hilary currently lives in Central Wisconsin with her husband, Jeff, and three children, Breck, Jake and Faith. They take advantage of the Northwoods and water as often as they can.
Michelle Heim, Executive Director
Michelle is a die-hard Gator fan and while at the University of Florida earned a B.S. in Advertising. Following graduation she headed West. After settling in Boulder, CO she joined Avolent, Inc. as a Corporate Communications Specialist where she handled the company's marketing including advertising, media planning, website development, special events and promotions. After a few years in the billing software business where she worked with Hilary’s husband Jeff, she left the hiking and skiing of Colorado for the sunny waters of Florida. At IBF she provides daily support for our clients and vendors as well as keeping tabs on our communications, presentations, products and website development.
Michelle lives in St. Petersburg, FL with her husband (also named Jeff), her adorable daughter Lauren Grace and crazy dogs Aspen and Scoobi. She is a tireless volunteer for All Children's Hospital, is working on her greenbelt in Isshinryu Karate and tries like mad to go skiing at least once a year.
History
Although the seeds of Inspired by Family were planted years ago, it was during Hilary’s own healing process after her oldest son’s severe scalding accident that she was led to find comfort in writing and public speaking. Often in sharing our stories we can find a sense of unity and acceptance. Through the enthusiasm and creativity of many friends, Inspired by Family was created as a forum to provide hope, courage, determination and peace to children, parents, educators, organizations and communities. Our services and products address a variety of issues from succeeding with ADHD to coping with severe burns to simply becoming a better parent, educator and global citizen. We are honored to be of service to you because it is only in service that we can fulfill our own true purpose.
